The mayor of Marbella estimates the promotional impact that the city will have during this year 2022 at two million euros
Marbella has achieved the recognition of the “Most Exclusive and Prestigious” city among 20 rival finalists according to “European Best Destinations”, where it has been second as “Best European Destination”, with 61,401 votes, only behind Ljubljana (Slovenia).
“Eden Network”, the platform for the exchange of good practices in tourism of the European Commission, underlines that:
“Visitors value aspects such as the quality of life, the climate, gastronomy, the leisure offer, health or shopping.”
At the same time “it has been the number one destination and most voted for by travelers from the United Kingdom, even ahead of London”, precisely one of the main source markets for tourists in the municipality, the councilor highlighted.
Marbella has competed with cities at the highest level, such as London, Athens or Rome, and has achieved “a magnificent and surprising result”.
“Marbella was shortlisted as one of the 20 best European destinations from an initial list of 400 candidates”, recalled the mayor of Marbella – Muñoz.
These twenty finalist destinations were published on this platform dedicated to tourism -one of the most visited in Europe- and in media associated with it such as “Forbes USA”, “Condé Nast Travelers”, “Geo”, “National Geographic”, ” Yahoo” or “Corriere Viaggi”, among others, which is a “great promotion”.
