According to Olivier Ponti, vice president of ForwardKeys, Turkey, Serbia and the UAE are the main transfer points for Russians travelling from Russia to Europe. At the same time, Spain is mainly reached via Turkey.
According to the company’s data the main destination countries in Europe when traveling via Turkey are Germany, Italy, the UK, Spain and Greece. Compatriots most frequently travelled via Serbia to Montenegro, France, Switzerland, Italy and Cyprus. And the UAE was a transit point for travellers to Germany, the UK, Italy and France.
It is specified that Turkey and the UAE also served as “hubs” linking Russia with the US and some Asian destinations.
